HENRY ZHU, PhD is a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Sachs. He has a strong foundation working with young adults and is adept at treating an array of diverse and overlapping conditions in patients with complicated histories. Dr. Zhu received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University.
As a doctoral student, he worked as an extern at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. There, he completed advanced work in neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive remediation for individuals with neurocognitive disorders and problematic school-related issues.
Dr. Zhu completed his pre-doctoral internship at Student Counseling Services at Hofstra University, where he specialized in providing evidence-based cognitive behavioral interventions to college and graduate students. Throughout his tenure at Hofstra, Dr. Zhu had the opportunity to work with patients of all ages, and feels comfortable translating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed skills to patients and families across the lifespan who may feel "stuck" in very different ways.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Zhu focuses his energy in helping New Yorkers find meaning and ways to achieve that purpose day to day and long term.
