DIAGNOSTIC CLARIFICATION/TREATMENT REVIEW

In addition to working with professionals Dr. Sachs and her team can work with individuals and families who are looking for clarification on diagnosis and how best to tailor treatment. While each consultation is individualized, we have three options:

Non-Clinical Treatment Review: Families who reside out of New York State may be interested in meeting with Dr. Sachs to gain some clarity if their family is on the right track in accessing services for co-occuring Autism and mental health conditions.

The process with include: Data Gathering: Dr. Sachs meeting with your family and professionals for a total of 5 hours. She will meet with you 2-3 times to gather the right information, speak with relevant professionals, review any testing, IEPs or other documents you send. Feedback: Meet with your family for an 90 minute feedback meeting. Cost of this is $4500 and is not reimbursable by insurance.

If you think you do not need this level of attention, Dr. Sachs can meet: She will meet with your family for 2 hours (split over 1-3 sessions) plus a 60 minute feedback session. If there is documentation you would like Dr. Sachs to review, it should be sent at least one full week prior to this meeting. Cost of this is $2500 and is not reimbursable by insurance.

Comprehensive Clinical Consult: At times individuals or their families are interested in meeting with the psychologists in our practice to gain some clarity if their family their current treatment plan is the best fit and to receive recommendations on how to better access services for co-occuring Autism and mental health conditions.

Because each process require and individualized approach, she will meet with you for an intake (120 minus for $1300) and come up with a plan. A sample plan includes: Dr. Sachs meeting with your family and professionals for a total of 5 hours. She will meet with you 2-3 times to gather the right information, speak with relevant professionals, review any testing, IEPs or other documents you send. Feedback: Meet with your family for an 90 minute feedback meeting. We will provide CPT codes when relevant. That time may be reimbursable by insurance. Time spent with professionals/reviewing documentation will not necessarily be linked to a CPT code.

Brief Clinical Consult with Feedback: If you think you do not need this level of attention, Dr. Sachs can meet with your family for 2 hours (split over 1-3 sessions) plus a 60 minute feedback session. If there is documentation you would like Dr. Sachs to review, it should be sent at least one full week prior to this meeting. Cost of this is $2000

Diagnostic Clarification/Evaluation and Recommendations: Individuals and their families are often curious if an Autism label, a different mental health condition, or Autism and a co-occuring mental health condition best explains their past and current struggles. Others may already have a label of Autism but are unsure if it is fitting or practically what that label means. You can meet with the psychologists in our practice to gain some diagnostic clarity and receive practical recommendations.

The process with include:

An initial meeting of two hours to determine which evaluation (described below) is most appropriate for your family and will be charged a clinical intake. Prior to this meeting they will review any testing, IEPs or other documentation you send. At the end of the meeting the evaluation plan with fees will be shared. Cost is based on time used. Sample plans include the levels below based on different needs. Different providers’s fees which can be found here

In addition to the intake meeting:

+Level 1: Will include:

  • Scoring and review of Autism specific measures (eg. AQ, EQ, RAADS-R, SRS-2) that will be done at home and returned prior to meeting. 60 minutes

  • Semi-structured interview with a psychologist with Autism specific questions 60 minutes

  • Feedback Meeting for 90 minutes.

+Level 2: Will include:

  • Scoring and review of Autism specific measures (eg. AQ, EQ, RAADS-R, SRS-2) that will be done at home and returned prior to meeting. 60 minutes

  • Semi-structured interview with a psychologist with Autism specific questions for 60 minutes

  • Scoring and review of additional clinical measures (if needed done in session for up to 120 minutes*the higher fee) or that will be done at home and returned prior to meeting

  • Meeting with psychologist to gather additional clinical information for 90 minutes

  • Feedback Meeting with psychologist for 90 minutes.

FOR PROFESSIONALS

Dr. Sachs is often asked to share her expertise on co-occuring Autism, Anxiety, and OCD.  Dr. Sachs provides training and supervision to other psychologists, mental health providers, and educators.  She welcomes the opportunity to speak to community groups, schools, and your staff on a wide range of topics. Consultations can be scheduled on-site or via phone or Zoom.
